The Brahma Rooster is truly the ‘King of Chickens.’ Originally developed in the United States from large birds imported from China, the Brahma became the primary meat bird of the country from the mid-1800s until about 1930. Today, they are prized as exhibition birds and calm flock leaders. Our 2026 Brahma males are bred for impressive scale, reaching a mature weight of 10 to 12 pounds.

Physical Characteristics and Varieties

Whether you choose the Light, Dark, or Buff variety, the Brahma male is a sight to behold. They feature a sturdy, tight-feathered body that provides exceptional insulation against freezing temperatures. Their pea comb is small and sits close to the head, making them far less susceptible to frostbite than roosters with large single combs.
